Martin Rune Deck

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Martin Rune Deck, a set of Anglo-Saxon Futhorc Rune cards. This deck is the result of an extensive year-long collaboration between artist Taren Martin and Alaric Albertsson, author of Travels Through Middle Earth: The Path of a Saxon Pagan, Wyrdworking: The Path of a Saxon Sorcerer, and To Walk A Pagan Path. Albertsson was gracious enough to write the text for the booklet that accompanies the deck, which not only includes translations of each passage of the Rune Poem, but meanings for each rune. The booklet also gives suggested divination layouts, and an example of using Rune Magic.

Composed of 33 illustrations, the Martin Rune Deck depicts the 29 passages of the Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem. Each card includes the runic symbol, the name of the rune and an illustration depicting the rune's meaning as given in the Rune Poem. In addition are four more cards for the runes that have no surviving lore. These additional cards were designed with a distinct look by the artist, to distinguish them from the others. The card backs show the Eormensyl, the great World Tree, surmounted by the Well of Wyrd, which holds in its inky depths the primal elements of Fire and Ice.

Rediscover the lost runes of England with this beautifully illustrated deck of rune cards. The Martin Rune Deck will delight runic scholars, as well as collectors of contemporary inspired Pagan art. Priced at a very reasonable $24.95 (+S&H), these rune cards are sure to become a treasured addition to your collection.
